anders brownworth | senior advisor

Anders Brownworth is a Senior Advisor to the Digital Currency Initiative, a part of the MIT Media Lab focusing on cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology.

Prior to the DCI, Anders worked at the Federal Reserve managing engineering for Project Hamilton, a joint research effort between the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston and MIT's Digital Currency Initiative.

Prior to the Federal Reserve, Anders was an early employee of Circle where he worked as a senior software engineer. He built a number of internal systems and the backend for Circle Trade, then one of the world's largest OTC players. Anders also helped create and launch USDC, one of the largest stablecoins in the world.

During his time at Circle, Anders co-taught the first blockchain class at MIT. He also created a blockchain explainer video with millions of views on YouTube.

While outside of work, Anders likes to run and is a licensed helicopter pilot.
